Chemistry? Or Physics?

I’m a sophomore who is about to register for junior year this week, and I wanted to ask you guys which is more rigorous: Chemistry P or Physics P.

A little background information:

  • I’m taking AP Human Geography (the teacher is really good, most of my classmates have A’s), which is my first AP class, and I’m doing quite well with a solid A, as well as Pre-Calculus, which I also have a solid A in. However, I am not taking Chemistry this year, and I need to take either that or Physics.
  • There are two chemistry teachers in my school. According to students, one quizzes her students daily, and the other lectures all period.
  • There is at least one Physics P teacher. However, students have never discussed what learning physics under him would be like.

Again, which class would be more rigorous for me, Chemistry P or Physics P? Do you also have your own experiences to share?

Are they honors or regular courses?
Is there any way you could double up and take both courses next year?
What science are you in right now? How well are you doing? Do you enjoy the subject?
You should find out how difficult the physics teacher is before you make your decision.

You never know which of the two you’ll like better unless you try them. I would, however, always recommend trying out physics, if you haven’t done so.

If it’s not for you, maybe you can find some way of switching into chem? If possible, of course.

To answer IAmNotCreativ’s questions…

  1. They’re both regular courses. Unfortunately, my school doesn’t offer honors Chemistry or Physics.
  2. I wouldn’t be able to without taking seven classes - I’m taking Calculus AB, AP US History, a language class (Vietnamese 2), English 3 Honors, and another elective next year as well.
  3. I’m not in a science class this year. I attempted to take Chemistry this year, but I wasn’t able to because that would require me to expand into seven classes. However, I did take Biology last year, and I did quite well in the class.

lol.

Go find someone that’s taken physics at your school, then.

Kawaiiii, you got me there.

I certainly will do that, even though finding someone has been difficult!

@tehplanefreak‌ You should look around on facebook and see if your school has some kind of “group” for physics (or just in general, I guess) and ask there if you’re having a tough time finding someone (if you want).

Of course, this won’t work if you don’t have a facebook. =P
