I took the June 4th SAT II in Chemistry and got a 760. Is that good for a future-chem major who wants to go to top schools?

770 here.
::Virtual high five:: Seriously though, good job, you'll be fine. Theres a certain level of perfection any college can expect from you, and if you demonstrate interest in the subject, you're fine. At least thats what I hope, being 30 points off myself.

Theres a point...when I look at myself...in pajamas...in a dark room...huddling in front of a glowing computer computer screen...at 5 AM...and attentively watching the progress bar near full at collegeboard.com...that I finally think to myself..."***?"

My really close friend got a 710... is he screwed???

How did you study and what books did you use?

Whatever.

Barrons, Kaplans, Princeton Review. Barrons was probably the best, it covered everything on the exam. Didn't help me very much, I got a 710, but thay was because I fretted when I took the test. Read Barrons, understand it, get like 660s on the Kaplan practice tests which are nothing like the real thing.

Study?
If anything, for the AP. If you are ready for the AP exam, you'll be fine for the subject exam. I used PR for the AP and Zumdahl 6th for the class. As my teacher always said, "If you know Zumdahl, you're fine." Then again I am just a meager 770. Some of the mighty 800s should reply.

<----- only in HONORS chem

I took it last year after h. chem and got a 760. I think it's fine. I was hoping to get higher on this bio actually, but only managed a 740.

Wait, but is a 760 Chem for an ivy bad?

As I said, I think it's fine, but better is probably better... er... yeah...

got 740... i'm cool w/ it..

I got 750, which I was expecting with no prep, but still, I've taken a full year of both honors and AP and done well lol
Ivys want 750+... but if you can get 780-800 that's impressive... just study over the summer like 2 hours a week and retake it in fall

Yea, i got a 710, but i thinik it was bc it was my last one, oh well i think they're great nonetheless

I got 800's across the board baby. 800 on chem, physics, math 2. I used sparknotes books on all 3.

FAKEOUT

YAY!!

I got a 780!!

Later

800!!!!!

Yay, especially since I never did that well in practice.

730 - SOOO HAPPY
didn't expect it - skipped like 20 questions i swear
Regular chem here - but then again, my school is crazy science oriented
