Chemistry

I just took the Chem. diagnostic test in Barrons and got a 750 with a raw score of 65 but the curve seems a bit too generous...what scores did other people get on the real SAT II Chemistry in comparison to the practice tests in Barrons? kthanks

that actually is not generous.. seems about right.

barron's SAT subject tests are usually ridiculously hard and people don't do well... one of my friends took a test and got like a 600 on Math IIC and started freaking out but then took the real exam and got an 800.

also, the barron's SAT Chem has LOTS of errors in it.

well...barron's.....if you look at a college inorganic chemistry book(usually studied by senior chem-major students), you will find a lot of stuff on that barron's SATII book(yay, barron's philosophy is overpreparing helps more than just telling you what you should know, and it seems to be a typical eastern-asian philosophy)
but i dont think it works

What sort of errors? Like concept errors, or typos?

It's like, they give you one set of numbers and then go and solve the problem as if they had given you a different set.

like they give you ones that require a calculator

im gonna fail chem. on that diagnostic, i got a 550...

First of all, Barron's is more difficult than the real test, so that 550 might not really be that horrible.

Second of all, that's the diagnostic test, so if you prepare using the book you should be able to bring it up that way as well.

true, i have one more week of school left. then one week of my summer break to devote my time to sat chem only!!! lol

wow...seems like your school ends pretty early...

yep but my school starts early. first week of august

i'd rather have that... more ap teaching time. my school starts early sept. and ends mid/late June... so i spend about a month and a half doing nothing in those classes.

barron's is HELLA hard. i take that & i get like 750 ish.
when i use princeton's , it's like 790-800ish.
kaplan's even easier: easy 800.

i don't know what to believe anymore -_-;

I think you're doing fine...from what I've read in all these threads, Baron's is actually harder than the real test so that 750 should be just fine.

ive been getting like 720-750's... lol and i like basically skip the ones which look like they need calc's so i think you're doing just fine.

Thank you for responding so quickly everyone!
