I took the SAT II Chemistry test in May and got a 720. I didn't think that this was too bad, until I got my percentile(74th uggghh). Around the time I took this test I was just beginning review for the AP Chem test...whereas I will have been out of a chemistry classroom for about 4 months when the next test date comes up. Should I retake it or not?

Only retake if you truly believe that you can get an 800 (or very close to it). 720 is in no way a bad score unless your goal is MIT or Caltech. If you get a 5 on your AP Chem test you should be fine because both scores show a mastery of the material.

I plan on applying to MIT, but I know that I have about a 2% chance of actually getting in. Harvey Mudd is another one of my "long shots". I am resisting the temptation to call for my AP scores, but I'm fairly confident that I got a 5. My teacher prepared us awesomely for the AP test (FR #4 was lame sauce...we took so much time practicing for it too), not to mention that I felt awesome on the AP and sick during the SAT. Anyway, are you saying that if they see the 5 they won't really care about the SAT? Or is it just that neither score is really all that important?
