Chess as an Extra Curricular

Hey, I am currently a junior in Texas getting prepared for the college application process a bit. I was wondering if I could count chess tournaments I played during my middle school years on my college app, so long as I have played at least one high school tournament as well.

I only ask because I performed well at national level tournaments during my youth, so I would not want that to be left off my app.

Thanks!

Sincerely,
Parth Kalaria

In middle school, no. In HS, yes.

It’s as good as any. A high ranking would be especially helpful. GL

no… if you havent won any national tournaments in high school, not worth mentioning.

stick only to high school experience - when adcoms visited my area, they said they absolutely abhor people listing middle school achievements.

just stay true to ur HS experiences. play it safe and get in.

also, if rating <1600, not worth mentioning IMHO.
