dream career, if money were irrelevant? A rockstar/French professor/photographer/volunteer doctor

intended major/academic interests? Comparative Human Development

favorite book? Night, The Secret Life of Bees, and, surprisingly, Shakespeare (thanks to my AP Language teacher!)

nerdiness on a scale of 1-10? 10. definitely.

guilty pleasure? Chocolate. And ice cream. Baskin Robbins.

favorite music genre? My taste in music is totally eclectic

greatest accomplishment? AP Biology! And a couple more personal obstacles.

greatest failure? My moment is very similar to elenduiel's. It was about a week ago. I had an AP Chemistry test, and the batteries on my calculator died. ugh.

How high is chicago ranked on your list? Number one! Totally. There's a HUGE gap between UChicago and my second choice.

Has anyone been to Lollapalooza before? I went last year, and a lot of you would have loved the lineup, and it is conveniently in Chicago. Muse, Spoon, MMJ, TV On the Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, too many great bands to name. But Daft Punk definitely stole the show. The most fun I have ever had at a show.

Radiohead is amazing. I loveee Bright Eyes and all music Conor Oberst creates.

haha, "I'm even guys"

okay okay giantredlobster. (I haven't had seafood in a while.)

Well I know it sounds kind of ironic if I say that I wish to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, because Nobel Peace prize winners receive their awards without competing for it or doing something for it, but I want to create "re-creation" centers where people of all shapes and sizes can gather to find peace and freedom through music and story writing.
I tell stories in the lyrics I write (hip hop can be a career >:D), in the poems I write, in the short stories I write.

I know speech has a huge impact on everyone (people were "goosebumped" by Obama's Presidential victory speech), but I hope my stories can spread and captivate people like that, bringing together so many people with stark differences and helping them find one common peace that we're all drawn too.

Though I may be penniless, I think my love for writing stories would feed me...somehow..hehe.
Anyone want to come along?!

Doo-doo-doo~

That is beautiful. It really is, "re-creation" centers... I def dig that.

If you are half the lyricist/writer you make yourself out to be I would love to read some of your stuff :D

What music artists do you like?

hahah where do I start?

I can tell you that the hip hop you listen to, (the one you refer to as conscious) I'm definitely a fan of :). (I love black culture!!!)

Let's see, Celph Titled, Blu & Exile, Molemen, Braille, Sivion, AZ, Big L, Common, Blackstar, J Dilla, The Quiett, Mad Clown, K-Otix, Loptimist, and much more. These are all just some of the hip hop artists I listen to.

Oh yeah and I'll pm you or am you or whatever m you some of my stuff!

That is some good stuff you listed there! Celph Titled... The Gatalog, so legit.

I look forward to checking some of your stuff out. :)

2. intended major/academic interests? International Studies, possible minor in classics.
3. favorite book? Gah! Why does everybody want to know this?? way too many to list, but right now it's "The Second Mark: Courage, Corruption, and the Battle for Olympic Gold".
4. nerdiness on a scale of 1-10? Umm, seven, maybe? idk
5. guilty pleasure?- America's Next Top Model
6. favorite music genre? Classical- Beethoven rocks.
7. greatest accomplishment?-Staying alive
8. greatest failure? SAT math......or accidentaly killing my pet bunny in the third grade...
9. how high is chicago ranked on your list? be honest- I'm really trying not to rank until I get fin aid info, but it's somewhere between Harvard and Montana State. :)

Humanitarian Aid worker for UN

Philosophy, Int. Affairs

Life of Pi

6

the internets

Indie/Folk. Sufjan Stevens.

Joining the Obama campaign and helping Virginia turn BLUE!

losing battle of the brains for my team (As the captain, I chose the hard category... :( )
and 9. NUMBER ONE

1) A combination of Charlie Eppes from "Numb3rs" and Sherlock Holmes, creating a mathematically inclined, pipe-smoking, archaic detective, or 2) a cryptographer.

Mathematics, ____ <-- (some sort of minor there, not sure what just yet)

"In Cold Blood" and the Harry Potter series are definitely up there.

About a 7.

Gilmore Girls, for sure.

Alternative/Indie/Folk, I guess. Keep it broad.

Um hitting a grand slam in the Dizzy Dean Little League World Series was pretty epic, mainly because I was the least played player on the team. Definitely an underdog moment. It really doesn't have much significance now that I have given up baseball, but it was the closest moment I have had to one of those cliche Disney-sport's-movie moments.

I fail when it comes to not obsessing over things. I try not to overdo certain tasks, but it seems to turn out the opposite way. Also, my problem with expressing my views with confidence.

Eh I would say 2, but an acceptance letter and financial aid could easily change that :)

Also, this may be random,

but does anyone else really want to play volleyball at U Chig?

Preferably non-competitive.

Chasdu, I thought I was the only Nickel Creek fan! Their instrumentals are amazing!!

Have we listed Belle and Sabastian, Beck, Band of Horses, Devendra Banhart, and Simon & Garfunkle? And Ladytron, however somewhat irrelevant to the list :)

With an emphasis on the non-competitve, than yes! I really like IM sports and I have recently discovered how fun volleyball is. That being said I sort of fail at controlling my hits/bumps/spikes and whatnot.

anthropologist/archeology/cultural conservation on indian reservation

1 out of 4

"[1. Renegade political activist who, in her spare time, studies archaeology and astronomy and translates Norse epic poetry. (well, that's if practicality were as irrelevant as money)]
