Chicago Area: Missing Northwestern Student

Oh, no. What terrible news. His poor parents.

My heart is heavy. I am so sorry for you and your son, Pizzagirl. I will keep the family, your family and the Northwestern community in my prayers.

Pizzagirl- I am sorry for this sad turn of events… My prayers are with his family and friends.

My MIL is a T1 diabetic and has had numerous “disoriented” occasions, so I too know that they happen.

PizzaGirl , please know that I like many others are saddened by this news and my heart and prayers go out to Harsha Maddula’s family and friends.

I agree Harsha mostly likely became disoriented but probably from insulin shock versus a diabetic-type coma. If he took his evening injection of insulin or evening bolus from his insulin pump along w/ late night party activities and walking home - a lack of sufficient Carbohydrate intake could easily result in severe lightheadness and disorientation.
