so i wrote a very creative chicago essay with my very own prompt.. i liked it so much that i want to use it for the common app essay because im also applying to other schools early through questbridge. I feel like that its my best essay and want all colleges to read this one.

however, this means that my chicago essay won't be as original and as creative. ill just be using my common app (about wrestling) essay to replace the chicago essay. would that make any difference whatsoever??

Why not use the wrestling essay as the common app for chicago, but use the chicago essay as the common app essay fo rthe rest of the schools. You can change the common app essay between schools

^ check the Help section on commonapps homepage and its somewhere in there. i made a duplicate of my common app also. they give you a link and you click on it, but i havent found it navigating myself so i’d suggest just looking it up like i did

can anyone simplify this:
Before you create alternate versions of your application, please read and understand the following important information:

**Once the original version of the application is submitted, it is electronically sealed. Although a student may submit to other schools using this application version, it cannot be edited.

*If you have already submitted a *supplement for a particular school, you will not be able to move that already submitted supplement to an alternate version, regardless of whether the application tied to that supplement is submitted.

*If you have any questions, please ask technical support *before submission of your supplement.

You can create an alternate version of your application by following the steps below.

Step1: You must submit the Common Application to at least one institution. When this is complete, you must logout of your account.

Step 3: You will be presented with a screen titled Application Versions, where you will see information about the application that youve already submitted. You may then click on the Replicate link to make an alternate version of your submitted application. When this is complete, a second version will be visible on this screen and a special drop down will appear in the upper right corner of the application to allow quick access to all your applications.

Step 4: You may edit the alternate version to allow for school specific information.
