Chicago, IL

I would love to live there. But it's just too cold in the winter.

You can get something nice and warmer in Long Island compared to Chicago. Unless you want to move to Queens or Brooklyn.

This is preventing you from going to Booth, the school that ran global business for the past 50 years or so?

Actually I’m a current resident of Chicago and the weather is just crazy & unpredictable. In this city screw the weatherman and lookout for people’s clothes to get a sense of what to dress for the day. Our winters are weird because a few years ago we receive snow in April, now summer feels like cool spring since its like high 50s - low 70s when normally its low 70s - high 90s.
We have cool parks downtown like millennium & grant park. Some finest restaurants and the financial district lies downtown area, just know the food is so overprice. We have CME, the water tower, you may want to try the 90 floor John Hancock building.

Just wondering, how are salaries, quality of life and cost of living compared to Boston, New York, San Diego, Los Angeles? Thanks

It’s cheaper to live in Chicago than out east, but more expensive than the south.

Taxes suck and will get worse. Sales tax is highest in the nation I think, gas prices are crazy too.
