Chicago Interviews

I would do an on-campus interview. I did interviews for schools I didn't end up applying to. He should, though do enough research in advance so when asked about the school, he can talk about specific things he likes about it (proximity to the city, core curriculum, academic strength are all safe bets).

Wait. It will most likely be to his benefit to do an alumni interview when he KNOWS that he wants to apply. It is also a benefit to know a bit about the school so that the interviewer sees interest and can talk about the school without giving out the basics.

I attribute a lot of my own child's interest in Chicago (and vice versa) to the on-campus interview--I would definitely suggest it.

Anyone have any idea how to ask for an alumni interview this summer? on line it says to ask throught the app which is not posted yet. We have written to the Admissions Office, to the person covering international, but no response. My S is in the States for the summer and would really like to have a chance for the interview.

Try calling admissions 773-702-8650 and they will help schedule an alumni interview. I believe that interviews start when the application is released.
If all else fails- the application comes out mid/late july.

My interview was very relaxed. Not intimidating at all, even though my school counselor told me that Chicago would "surely" ask hard questions.

Really, don't worry about it. You can PM me with a more specific question if you like.
