Chicago or Dartmouth for pre-med

I can't begin to explain how excited I am to be accepted by both schools. I've heard a lot of things about being pre-med in chicago and even more about the social life and all that.
I'd like to know which of these two colleges is better for pre-med especially around placements into medschools. I'm also particularly interested in the environment especially towards black females; which school has a friendlier/closer-knit environment?
I'm not a sorority person, would that affect my ability to fit into any of these schools?

I'm an international student and I won't be able to visit any of these schools before making my decision so I'd really like to get candid advice.

For info re: pre-med, please check back to this thread in a week or two:

UChicago’s official pre-med adviser should have responses to the critical questions posed in that thread. That should be of use to you!

(Generally, though, you can’t go wrong with either school, and should choose more on fit than anything else. You’ll do better at the place that you think is the best fit for you.)

UChicago’s probably less sorority-dominated, and it does have its preprofessional Med undergrad program which is awesome. That said, you’ll probably have an easier time keeping up your GPA at dartmouth, which is important for pre-meds. I’d personally say choose based on fit, unless you feel that you might be in that gray area in which you may not make it to med school.

I met a physician who is on the adcom for an Ivy League med school and he says UofC is one of a handful of schools that receive “special consideration” for med school applicants given its grade deflation. So don’t worry about GPA – in the end, it all evens out. Look more carefully at med school placement and fit. Pre-med is brutal wherever you go.
