anyone not receive a decision from chicago yet? i'm still waiting for my email.

Raj- you should have received it by now. You should call them.

i'm thinking that because they haven't posted on the website about sending emails, they're not finished with them. i'd hate to call and bother them if they're in the final stages of deciding my app.

I received a rejection letter in the mail today. Earlier this week, I received a rejection e-mail.

Does anybody else think that RD applicants got screwed over? Even if I applied EA I think I would have been rejected, but if I was a waitlistee in the RD cycle, I would be pretty bummed for not applying EA.

Just looking at the Chicago blog, all RD applicants who posted their decisions got rejected. In contrast, when EA decisions were sent out and EA applicants posted, there were many acceptances posted on the blog.

Does this mean RD applicants got screwed over? Not necessarily. It could be that the posters are not representative of all the decisions, or it could be that the EA pool is simply stronger than the RD pool. It could be a combination of factors. But, my initial thoughts are that RD applicants got screwed over.

WildChild didn't get screwed over, but he was accepted EA as a freshman applicant. He is also a legacy and was a recruited athlete the first time around. Just thought I would give you the background. I really have decided that transfer admissions are a total crapshoot. WildChild was rejected from University of Georgia, believe it or not! (he didn't want to go anyway)

Perhaps RD applicants got hurt, but my bet would be not by much. I was accepted with 2 SAT scores under 700 (610/670) and a very last minute application. Altough I think my essays were still good. I wrote about how nerdy I am (favorite composer - Nobuo Uematsu of Final Fantasy) and explained myself as a three dimensional function of 3 variables.

Personally I would think the EA ppl were probably just a bit stronger (they probably wanted to go more and it reflected), so that would explain the slight skew.

so i called and they said there are a handful (i asked for more detail, she said in the single digits) of ppl who are still under review. she appologized for it lagging behind.

anyone else waitlisted, i hope they dont waitlist a lot just in case

For you waitlisted folks, WildChild is declining the offer (boo), so that opens up a place. He will stay at Penn. He thinks he can create for himself at Penn what he believes is the superior education offered to EVERYONE at Chicago. We'll see if he can execute the plan.
