Chicago Unified audition- schedule?

Hi all-- Just wondering from some past participants-- What can my son expect at Syracuse’s Chicago Unified audition? I can’t find anything online about how they schedule there time block with the kids. (Hopefully SU will send us their schedule soon!)

Ugh… please excuse my terrible spelling! Talking to a co-worker and typing at the same time don’t mix!

…schedule THEIR time…

Kinda wondered that too, D has to fit in a u Miami dance audition between Syracuse and Penn State or between Emerson and u Miami. Nice to be given the option of with 1/25 or 1/26 from 12-1pm for dance but every school is asking for a 4 hour time block. Not enough hours in the day at NYC unifieds…

I keep checking their site hoping an audition slot opens up! We missed the boat on that one. Maybe a walk-in?

Just checked-- it looks like there’s an opening at NYC Unifieds in the afternoon on 1/25.

I would really like to know how much time is really needed for the unified audition too. I hope the school sends something soon. I’m thinking something more detailed should come a week or two before the audition.

I know they do this every year and things work just fine, but, dagnabbit, this is MY first time going through this. Can they not give better info?!! :)

hi all- My D is auditioning in LA for Syracuse. We have the same problem of the dance
call for Miami from 12-1 and then Syracuse from 1-5. I called the office today and asked if they would get a specific time slot. Syracuse (they were VERY nice BTW) said that they
do not give the specific time slot of the audition until the S or D signs up that day at 1:00 check in. 1pm is a information meeting (which she said would be fine if D was a little late too) and then a “warm up seesion” and then specific time slots for their audition. So, it probably is safest just to block off the entire time slot that is offered.

I can speak from last years experience it is like a block of time mine was 1-5 in Chicago for MT. You first start filling out some forms. Then there is an info meeting for parents and students that lasted a half an hour to 45 minutes. Then the students into two group one dances first one sings first and then they switch rooms. They do a vocal warm up with everyone in the singing room which I really liked and got a really warm vibe there. The dance audition I thought was really challenging and only a few people in my group got the combination and then he had us show some special skills like lifts and special turns and stuff and then he had a little like dance party with us. I remember I got out super early, but I know the other group took longer. I would just block out 1-5 regardless just be safe.

A monday morning session at Chicago Unifieds is open right now if someone wants it. My S can’t use it. Darn.

Just now received e-mail reminder from Syracuse for NYC Unifieds (1/24 1-5pm) time slot. There were no further details…just the block of time. Better to be safe than sorry to keep the block of time free.

Just got an email from Syracuse-- Drama Dept (including MT) auditions in Chicago will NOT be at the PHH. They’ll be held at the JW Marriott at 151 W Adams St. On a map it looks like 3-4 blocks away from the PHH. …blah…

I got that email. After checking the extended weather forecast, my plan was to stay in the PHH the entire trip! DARN YOU, SYRACUSE!!! LOL

They are just preparing you for the nasty weather you will encounter if your kids end up at Syracuse (NOT a Syracuse hater, I just grew up there and went to SU Law School so I know about nasty Syracuse winters).
BAL Chicago unified auditioners!
