Chicago Unifieds already full

I tried to schedule an audition last week in Chicago and they are already full. They suggested I continue checking back to see if someone cancels and they gave me an option of sending in a DVD for the audition. Has anyone else had this issue in the past? If you sent in a DVD instead of trying to get to campus did you feel that hurt your chances? Also have they typically had walk-ins available in Chicago?

Can’t offer any insight, just sympathy. The Chicago unifieds are booked, so we hoped to tie in to a audition trip to Ithaca, but Syracuse has already booked the only day that would work. We’d like to send in a DVD, but wonder if that penalizes the student. Hoping someone here can answer…

I kept looking at the online registrations and on some Monday slots at unifieds in Chicago opened up so I was able to get one.

This thread, as brief as it is, has us motivated to get our Chicago Unifieds audition slot secured sooner than later. The 'cuse website states that registration is not open yet, thus not sure if more information/requirements are to follow. What I do see it appears that the only thing you need to secure an audition spot is an application fee - no prescreen, no prior application to the University, etc. I know every year can be different; however, can someone confirm that this was the case for the 2013 Unifieds?

Last year they were one of the few my D had that the application did not need to be complete before scheduling the audition. We waited until the app was submitted thus running into the problem. They did not prescreen either
