Someone please call UChicago and verify Sensation’s post (yes, i know denial is a natural reaction to unpleasant news).

it’s 1 am or so right now in chicago

ill try calling tomorrow! should i call my regional counselor or is there another counselor i can call?

LOL oh yeah the time difference lol I tried the numbers here:
https://collegeadmissions.uchicago.edu/php/contact/

i suspect they will come up with a very diplomatic response

^ha let’s try and predict what they’ll say to us…

"we’re still trying to get all our data sorted out right now. all applicants will be notified by june. "

^I really do hope they give something more concrete though, not just like thank us for our interest and say that, which is essentially hanging up on us

Wow, I’m really hoping and praying that’s not true, has anyone called? Also, does anyone know of the status’ of other waitlisted students in other colleges? Have they been alerted?
Another question, on the very likely case we are not accepted from the waitlist, will it be easier to transfer to uchicago as a waitlisted student as opposed to someone who never applied.

Well back to studying Chemistry :/

^ yeah same questions

Chicago will make an official announcement soon, and no, even if you call the admissions office I will highly doubt that Chicago’s class of 2014 is already saturated. My friend told me that all waitlisted students Chicago want to accept have been contacted already.

Of course, there can be 1~2 new spots that can be available in late June. (Depending on others’ waitlist status) However, as far as I know with a reliable information Chicago will not pick additional waitlist students anymore.

@aresenallover

In fact, that issue was discussed before in Admissions thread. People concluded that it is wise not to mention that you were waitlisted before when applying for transfer.

Has there been any acceptance after May 1???

my international calls are still screwing up, has anyone called?

so… basically we’re really done now. haha

HappyBuddha

wow I have seen you post like 3000x (exaggeration). I know UChicago is probably your number 1 choice or it seems like it to me, but I am sure that you will go to a school fit for you if you are not taken off the waitlist. It is nice, overall, to go to a school that wants you back and will accept you for who you are and not as a backup choice.

Best of luck.

lol dude im just really bored, :)

Looks like their yield is up…

[Trends inAdmissions - The Chicago Maroon](<a href=“Rambling and flat, this family turmoil doesn’t amount to a handful of cherries – Chicago Maroon”>Rambling and flat, this family turmoil doesn’t amount to a handful of cherries – Chicago Maroon)

Chicago is done with their admissions for 2014. They will not pull students from waitlist anymore.

It’s very possible that this is true…but if that’s the case, do you have any idea when they are going to get around to contacting people? Other people have been told directly by admissions that everyone would be contacted, and it would make sense for them to go ahead and do that if their admissions are actually closed.

@wombatsoup

Chicago admissions office told me everyone will be contacted by early June. So I assume in the first two weeks of the following month, we will all get our…second rejection letter.
