Child Labor Laws

I was just wondering what the labor laws are in the state of North Carolina. Is there a maximum number of hours that a 16 yearold can work? If this individual works more than 40 hours in a given week, will he/she be paid overtime? Thanks

I know that in CT in a school week you can only work 3 hrs a day six days a week for only a total of 18 hrs until your 18 I think.

Oh. Well, I think they are different here then because during school I never worked less than like 20 hours a week. I usually worked about 30 a week.

Are there any restrictions for during the summer? Do you get paid overtime if you work more than 40 hours or can you even work more than 40 hours?

I think the website teens4hire.com has info on other states, or links to find out info for your state.

It is limited during the school year...and in the summer i think that 16 year olds cannot work longer than like 5 hours without being given a 15 minute break, other than that I am not sure...

Wait do any of you live in Connecticut because I do. There are limits in New England States I beleive.

yeah... um how old are you?
