Belated congratulations to all the OCU students cast. So wish we could have made it down to OKC for this production. My D plans to see it tonight but heard it was amazing. Give us an update after you return home.

Saw it last night and will be back again tonight with a bunch of S’s supporters. SRW and her husband are also supposed to be here tonight; We hope to get to meet. An amazing performance (even if I’m biased, right?). First act especially is gripping…multiple times where there were, literally, people all across the audience bawling their eyes out. Second half is strong too and has similar moments but seems to feel a little but more light-hearted (if you can consider destroying the earth by flood to be light-hearted) before building to a really strong ending. SRW’s son does an absolutely hands-down amazing job as father. What an huge voice. Very powerful. A strong anchor for the cast. And then will turn around in a few weeks to lead the cast of Der Fledermaus.

I wish I could see it. Thought about driving up and back on Sunday, but D has to work. She had a show (community theater) tonight, so it just didn’t work out. I’m sure I would be one of the ones bawling. It doesn’t really have to be sad to move me to tears. ha ha.

musicmom, you will miss a rare treat.

Long time no post! I didn’t even think of looking at CC before my trip. Rusty…your son was amazing! I love this show and he was perfect as “God”! Loved that all the MTs got to sing on the final song! Sorry I missed some of my CC friends and I’m sure we passed each other in the lobby!

Hi All, we just got in. I got to meet WmonMTDad and his wife! Lovely people and their son was wonderful! Perfectly cast and a beautiful voice. I am sure we will be hearing more from him in future productions! Zappos! I can’t believe we didn’t know you were there! I would have LOVED to meet you, was your D in the show, who was she? It seems we don’t get the chance to meet each other very often. WmomMtDad, I looked around for you later, but I guess you all had taken off already. Thanks for the kind words regarding our son, we were pleased with his performance, but we felt that everyone was truly outstanding and the overall show was really good! We had had some tears during the show, but when all of the other students came in and the sound was surrounding us it was almost too much! Dr. H. really did an amazing job.

No my D was not in the cast. Children of Eden was her first show at Stagedoor Manor many years ago. It’s been a fav of mine ever since. Rusty, my D told me that your son was playing Father but it wasn’t until he was on stage that I thought about CC and contacting you. I need to be better about checking in!

Here is a link I just got from S to the Photography session for Children of Eden. It won’t last forever (probably only 6 weeks or so) but for those that couldn’t get up to see it you may enjoy a peek.

WMonMTDad, thanks for the link, wow they sure got those up fast!

Wonderful to see those pictures! My D was not cast, but like zappos said she was able to sing on stage in the final song and was happy to have been a part of the show!!

srw - we saw Die Fledermaus Friday night and someone told me that your S played the lead. We thought the show/cast was AMAZING!! D saw the show before her audition day on Saturday and was really inspired by the talent she saw.

Not sure if any other CC kids were in the show but if they were - WOW!

austinmtmom, Glad you saw the show and I am glad you liked it! We were not able to go down for it so it’s good to hear it went well. Thank you!
Good Luck to your D.
