is there room above a door or something or anywhere to install one of these? do they let you?
i need like a 12 inch by 22 inch space for a rock climbing hangboard, if not, how about settling for a chin up bar?

awwwwwwwwwwwwwww

They won't let you put those kinds of things up because they have to be nailed into a wall/doorway. But...there's always the gym.

reminds me of a funny story...someone told me a guy who lived on our floor last year used the water main pipe (protruding from the dorm ceiling) to do chin ups.

He ended up flooding his room, damaging his possessions, and disabling his roomate's computer (which had a term paper, among others important things, in it)

hahaha….funny! somehow I feel especially bad for the lost term paper…all that time/effort….;)

I would punch that guy in the face if he ruined my comp. & destroyed my term paper.

btw I don;t have any pipes in my room, but I know a kid in Dickson who has a pipe which bisects his room.

no wai
what if i secretly install it

They will find out during inspections (over breaks and such) and fine you up the wazoooo.

oi oi oi oi

take the bar home with you and conceal the holes

Wait, Cornell FINES you for violations?

If you make holes in the wall, they'll charge you for the holes. Any damage they will charge you.

how much for a hole?
do they fine and then fix the walls right away or can they wait til the end of the year to fine you? meaning can i get away with just paying for the holes basically? or do i need to take them off asap

cover it with tape :)

Well, you have to take off all tape. And if the tape damages the paint, they fine you too.

I'm not sure how much the fines are in proportion to the damage but I think it's a lot.. I'm sure you can get it fixed right away and get fined right away. But they don't check until the end of th year.

are you kidding!
now im thinking small paper balls and white out

LOL Hansen.

http://www.karatedepot.com/tr-ex-40.html you don't have to make holes - it jambs into the top of the door frame.

lol this is the best and most practical thread ive read for a long while :D

Wow that is the most useful thing...no matter what college you go to. Time to buy it :)
