Chinese (language) at Rice

I'm a native Chinese speaker, but since I moved to the US I've forgotten how to read and write. So, are there specific class at Rice that concentrate on Chinese writing and reading? And how strong is Chinese in general at Rice? Is Chinese taught in simplified or traditional?

I lived in Houston for four months in the fall of 2005. There is a strong Chinese community there. Where we went to school, Strake Jesuit, near Bellaire and Gessner, there was even a school that taught Chinese on the weekend. You’ll be back on the horse in no time.

Rice has an accelerated Mandarin track specifically designed for native speakers who need to work on reading and writing. Introductory Chinese (for those with no experience) gives students a choice of learning traditional or simplified, and I believe the accelerated track does as well. There are many native Chinese speakers on campus, and the Chinese cultural organizations seem pretty strong.

There are so many Chinese here that you will learn it whether you want to or not.
