Just wondering if anybody knew what the Chinese placement test is like?

I was wondering the same thing. is it an interview or a written test? the lady I emailed (a loong time ago) never responded!!! :((((((((((
but yeah my chinese kind of sucks so I probably won't do it anyways.

I haven't taken Chinese for 3 years. I can still speak fluently, but my reading has suffered and my writing has just gone down the gutter. x_x...

I had the same situation with the lady (Lori Harris?). I emailed her 2 months ago, then again 2 days ago. No response at all. o_0

Weird, Lori is usually good with stuff like that.

I know that the Japanese placement test tests your character knowledge and some writing skills, and then there was a very basic conversation with the professor - I imagine Chinese would be the same (so part written, part oral).

The Chinese department is great, and I'd really recommend starting out with 101. The college level is far different from high school - I wish I had taken Japanese 101 instead of starting with 102.

ooooh. Do you know how advanced the writing skills are?

err yah okay I am not taking this test... hahaha

Holy crap, the 4th year test was a lot harder than I thought it would be. And there was no oral portion which made me sad.

How did everyone do?

ahahahahahha

...........................................................................................
