Chinese SAT Raw Score to get 800

Ok, I'm kinda confused about the raw scores needed to get an 800 on the Chinese SAT subject test. I have one of those big blue books with each of the subject tests, and the conversion chart in there says that the minimum raw score to get an 800 is 80/85. But I've also taken an prep class for the test, and they claim that the minimum score needed is 84/85. I know there's some variance in the conversion charts between tests, but there's a big difference between 80 and 84.

Can anyone with actual experience with the test point me in the right direction?

ps. Yes, I am a native speaker, but I am finding that I have a "relatively" difficult time with this test.

I've heard that if you get one question wrong on the SAT II chinese, that you will get a 760. It's because there are so many native speakers taking the test, that the curve for Chinese is messed up.

I think, that you could get one wrong and still get an 800. I think. That's what I heard from someone who took it and got an 800. But yea, the curve is pretty harsh otherwise. :c

guys i took it and missed 2...790...grrr...the national average is 760 though
790 is only 35th percentile so im guessing 65% of people got 800s

How will this reflect for college if you are not a native speaker? Not even asian for that matter.

^ They look at your standardized test scores contextually. I'm not sure how they would definitely know if you were a native speaker, but they can get a good sense. Even though 700 is probably some crappy percentile like 20th that's still excellent for non natives.

46 percent of people get 800. I know this because I got 800, which is 56 percentile. And my friends raw scores:
84 = 800
83 = 790
82 = 780
