I'm Chinese and was wondering if I should take the Chinese subject test just for the heck of it. I tried the practice questions on collegeboard and got all of them right. But is there any benefit for me to send the score to colleges if I am Chinese? Or do they look down upon it?

@OP: Nope, it’s a good idea! Any Chinese-American student can “claim” they speak Chinese fluently. A nice 800 and/or 5 on the AP Exam actually gives credit to your statement.

It wouldn’t necessarily hurt you, but it wouldn’t be too impressive. I’d send the score, but only as an “extra.”

A good score can only help you. However, it’s recommended that you don’t use a Chinese score to fulfill any Subject Test requirement since you are a native speaker.

Gaaahhh!

Ok. Yes, you can take AP Chinese and get them college credits. You an also take SAT II Chinese, but you’ll get nothing.

But for me, who is not a native Chinese speaker… That curve just keeps on climbing thanks to you fluent speakers… -_-
