I added u, I'm the one from MIT =)

CNCL, if you are in the states right now. Just UPS Ground Shipping the package to the school. This is probably the most economic way.

Or rent a U-Haul? ;)

bowto and tangsdaily, thanks for all your tips--they definitely helped. and yes, i do plan to get a dvd-burner now.
i've been wasting too much time on this business, going between two nearly identical models. i know, i swear i'm going to decide tonight...or tomorrow, i guess i'll flip a coin if i have to =P
anyway, a desktop would be very nice and is much less expensive. but i will be sharing my room with a roommate. and with all my procrastination skills, i don't want to be disturbing her 2 in the morning starting some research paper and whatnot...so instead i'll just stay in the library, if they let me hopefully.

alright, here's my facebook account.
http://utexas.thefacebook.com/profile.php?id=7931731
i think you have to sign in first, but hopefully it'll still work. vanillaice and sweetbee, thanks for adding me. talk to you guys later =)

whenever someone purchased a laptop, he/she will always find a better deal afterwards, doesn't matter he/she purchased a high end or low end model. so whatever decision you make, have no regrets, technology is progressing, there will always be a better performing model in the next few years

Chinese people is all over the place.

hmmmm...i'll take that as a compliment.
anyone else has facebook account??

yes, definitely. the one i finally choose is probably going to be nothing in a few years, exp. since it's that fancy. but it'll definitely be enough to get me through 4 years of college
hopefully. the thing i like about it is that it's only 3.5 lbs (but has an exteral dvd/cd drive), which makes it much easier to carry around.
btw. i just got back from the smoky mountains in n carolina/tennessee. it's quite fun driving around everywhere. has anyone else been there before?

you will enjoy your laptop....i've heard abt the smoky mtns ...envying....did you rent a cabin or did you stay with friends?

haha, yes, thanks. i'm sure california's much more fun though.
no i went with my family, after a 4hr drive from kentucky. we planned to stay over at a hotel for just 1 night then head back the next day, but that turned out to be way too short. so we extended our stay and ended up spending 3 days and 2 nights there. And yes, I would greatly recommend it to anyone who likes beautiful, quite natural surroundings w/ lots of trees, creeks, waterfalls, clouds, trials, deer, and fresh air...yes, just be sure that your car has good brakes and bring some good walking shoes.

....talking about !Hiking!.....

who else here is a big fan of outdoor hiking/camping?....i just love it....

i got my visa!!!hahahahahaha....

congrats, and more best wishes, vanilla ice, the journey is not easy

Congratulations!!!!

what more can i say other than CONGRATS!

btw, does anyone know the origin of the word Visa?

haha~~~thanks everyone!v relaxed now,but chongqing is damn hot these days.can only stay at home...

VISA:
[French, short for Latin (carta) visa, (the document has been) seen, from feminine past participle of vidre, to see. See weid- in Indo-European Roots.]
...
sorry, and yes, i do feel like a nerd. but no, it didn't come straight from my head...i looked it up on dictionary.com. so yes, i cheated ;)

houston's like an oven. staying outside feels like being burned alive. gosh, i miss kentucky already...
so i finally washed my track shirts/shorts/socks/shoes left from may since they were so dirty that my mom won't let me wash them in the washing machine...man, that was fun.
...swear i'm going to stop being so lazy from now on, or else i'll die in college
