well, i'll be visting some places on friday as a group from my school, and free on that saturday in chicago, i might go to nwu to see some friends(foster business ties), and leave sunday morning.

congratulation, vanilla ice, you got the 1200th post, a lucky number. i purpossely left the 1200th spot to you. hehehehe

oops, i started another page. be aware of the trojan horse

lol. no. i don't think starting a new page has anything to do with the virus. i got it last week while working on a paper. so it must have been some random website that i visited on greek plays...no idea. anyway, just be careful. i spent 2 hrs waiting at ITS watching some guy trying to fix my laptop..still need to go back today. so looks like i won't be on my laptop for a while now. it's pretty inconvenient that i have to go to the computer lab/library to use their computers each time..but it's amazing how my work efficiency increases w/o a laptop. lol.

Virus? what virus? the only virus on I hear from CNN is the bird flu and how we don't have anything that can kill it and can be cheaply manufactured in large quantities and availble like ASAP!

You might need one for uni/college, but unless you can self-discipline (not me!), a laptop with Internet access, especially broadband is a dangerous time-sucker.

i do feel that computer(esp. with internet), ipod, tv, cellphone, refrigerator, cause attention deficit.
yet they just help you to social to greater extent, i met more girls through those gadgets, but i have no intention to **.
i guess in the future most people will have problems with concentrating attetion. sigh...... but i met * here
anyway, you are in a free world, you can choose your own; and getting free rides from college's public stuff definitely saves you a great deal.

I heard their virus definition updates every 30 mins and people who use it says it did a good job kill virus. But i haven't try it yet. I have norton on my computer. And it's pretty good so far. (I m not advertising, btw)

this thread is for all chinese no matter of their citizenship or residency, or other background; and also for non-chinese interested in chinese culture or just normally college stuff.

yea, that spacecraft is the thing to watch right now

ppl say 卡巴斯基 can ruin computers, other love it w/ a passion...

but honestly, antivirus r waste of system resourses. get MS antispy and some firewall (a firewall that comes w/ antivirus is OK i guess...but turning off the antivirus). the extra worrysome and ahemriskybehaviorcough* can use another antispy thats better than the MS one

yea and in China they almost finished a program that kills viruses once they attack, so it should avoid the huge library and endless constant updates, but still, viruses just dont bother ppl anymore, its spyware that is the problem for ppl

and 80% of internet connected machines out there got spyware, most dont know it, and the only way to run clean is a silent reinstall of winXP pro every couple months
