CHM2045 for Engineers

Hi
Is CHM2045 for Engineers significantly different from normal one? I registered for this class (Keaffaber) and just knew that it is for engineers in Elearning. There was not any notification so it is very confusing to me.
I am planning to major in Biology or Biochemistry so should i drop this class?

Thanks

i heard they learn same stuff but take harder tests

Is it significantly harder?

The engineering majors in my dorm last fall actually seemed to agree that the tests were easier, but the quizzes harder. Keaffaber’s also a great teacher.

I have heard that the engineering chemistry tests are more math-based and have more difficult math problems, while the regular chemistry tests are more conceptual (although there’s still lots of math involved). If math is a strong subject for you, maybe it would be best to stay in it. I have also heard many good things about Keaffaber. Since you mentioned that you’re majoring in biology/biochemistry, you might want to see an advisor and make sure it’s acceptable to take the engineering section in case they teach certain things in the regular section that aren’t taught in the engineering section. You want to make sure you are not at a disadvantage when you take Chem 2 and Organic Chem. That wouldn’t be good if you needed to retake the class because you need the regular section. I wouldn’t think this would be a problem though since I’m sure there are people who start out as an engineering major and decide to change to a science major to pursue a medical career or something else.
