Choate/deerfield

Feel free to rant/obsess about either. List why one is better than the other, and their different assets. (i.e. Deerfield is more snobby, Choate is diverse...)

I'm not biased, of course. ;) This is mainly for kids who are applying to Deerfield and Choate.

So, do like:

Choate
Pros...........Cons

Deerfield
Pros............Cons

Just bumping this board. :D

What does "bump" mean? People keep using that expression, and I don't really get it.

If you bump something up, then you push it up, so to bump a board up means making it first in the list, so that it doesn't go to the next page and become lost.

choate is just amazing. the end.

deerfield is very preppy. (con for me)

Haha Msu. :D I think Deerfield is preppy and apathetic.

Ah, now I get it. Thanks Olivia. :)

I'll stick up for Deerfield. Yes, they're a bit preppy, but it's foundation is on excellence in all areas, not snobbery. The campus is also quite unique. I like how it keeps things simpler in terms of extracurriculars so kids don't get overwhelmed, and they can focus.

preppy is not bad..why does preppy hav to be bad?

Even though this is a Choate and Deerfield thread, I'm going to stick up for Exeter. :D :D

Exeter

Pros.
Exeter is a synonym for P\/\/||4G3.
Cons.
Undefined. It's like dividing by zero.

The style of clothing is not bad, but sometimes I think preppy people are stereotyped as being shallow (i.e. they care only about being preppy/popular and wouldn't pay attention to those who aren't).

hmmm..our impression was so different from many of yours. Preppy, yes. We thought the campus was unique and very beautiful. Also, we thought the students were the friendliest we met. The school has a lot of tradition but that adds to the "spirit" of the place. Everyone seemed to know each other which my guess somewhat stems from their seated lunches and dinners. But go ahead and don't like the school - less competition. :)

That's good, creative.
I would apply there, but my main problem was that none of the kids there had roommates. I wouldn't go to boarding school if I didn't have a roommate. Probably comes from being an only child.

Hey, Chaos, Exeter isn't part of the Choate-Deerfield thing I got going on here. :D

hahah pwnage.
whats do you mean diving into zero?

preppy isn't bad, but I don't like preppy personally.
Probably because everyone here is. no one is unique. seriously (clothing wise and creativity wise)

I think she means dividing (Chaos, you're a girl, right?) Sorry if I'm wrong - again, I think they should have gender identification. ^^

Same in my school, Msu.

Olivia, you're the first person who I've heard wants a roommate. You're right; it probably does come from being an only child.
I agree that preppy doesn't have to be bad. It can be good; it is people who are preppy who also act badly that make it bad. I kind of disagree with you, Msu, because a lot of people consider me preppy, but my clothing is not normal. Not at all. :D

J, how many siblings do you have?

I love having a roommate at camp.

I'm male. -_- :D

No problem, there isn't much here to differentiate.

I have one older sister. She'll be seventeen on the 12th. I love her very much, and we actually get along quite well now, but when we were younger, there were days when I would not have minded if she had mysteriously vanished from the face of the earth. :D

Sorry, Chaos!! I think I'll make a board about who's female/male. It would clear things up a lot.

You're so lucky you have a sister. I'd want a sister or a brother. Maybe a twin brother, or an older one.
