Choate's big essay has 3 questions you can answer.
the third one is asking how I see the world.
I really want to write that one, but I really don't know where I would go with my essay.
Maybe it's because I don't fully understand the question (though Im pretty sure I do)?

Please help! the question is asking me what my perspective of life is. Do you see another twist to this question?

I think it's basically like, how do you view your relationships with people ... do you like staying close to family, or meeting strangers, or being like Hitler and manipulating people (hopefully not :)) , or do you think of the world as a game ... just be creative.

I haven't gotten around to MY essays yet, though I've made my mom sit down and do hers. :D

hmm can you kind of explain how you got the relationships with others from that question?
and I understand the game thing, thanks :]

oh I'm doing it online as well! well, page 7 is the whole big essay page. it says
Write an essay that conveys to us a sense of who you are. Possible topics include experiences, people, or places that have shaped your life; the circumstances of your upbringing; or the way you see the world.

its not really in question form but thats the topic I'm going to write about. you don't have to answer any of those because they're "possible" topics. So you can go totally creative and write your own thing (but about yourself of course) :)

Ooh, I get it. I thought you might be talking about that essay, but I didn't realize that you could choose just one of them. I guess I was just skimming it. :)

Well, about the relationships thing, about how you view your relationships with other people (i.e., do you like meeting strangers or do you stick closer to familiar things). Are you a risk-taker or someone who stays to the side? Etc. That's just an example, though.

I'm sorry that you're so overwhelmed, Msu. :( Have you considered dropping a school? I'm sure you'll get into them. If there's one you really don't like, I'd consider dropping it.

I've already dropped one (Groton). A little too small for me.
Maybe I'll consider dropping another.
I'm a sophmore so my parents said either I go to a top school, or stay in my school now because there would be no point. So, I'm pretty much just giving it all I've got because I have no safety. I guess you can say Choate is my safety, but honestly, Choate is my favorite one out of all of them.
hopefully, this won't be a waste and I'll get into one.

hi
sorry to butt into your conversation =D
but doesnt the choate application seem fun?
like the questions that they ask, i think, would really make the applicants open up to the them. im guessing they ask these questions so they can really get a sense of who you are

another reason why i loveeee that school!
it really makes applicants think and though it might not seem it like, it reveals a lot about the applicant. I think the questions are very vague so it allows the us to be creative.

Msu, I've got no idea what the average is. I'm applying eleven, including three day schools. Do not do this. Very bad. Repeat: Do not do this. Very bad indeed. :D I was orginally applying to twelve.

Olivia, have you chosen your topic for the Andover application? I'm doing the first one, where you choose three figures from history or literature to be your dormmates at Andover. I've finished with all of my essays (haven't mail them though--too nervous :)) except Andover. It's written and edited, but I wrote about five figures, and I can't figure out which three to keep. I think I know two of them, but the last one is trickier.

What figures are you choosing for the last part? I think I might do more contemporary historical figures in the past century who have been major civic revisionists.

I remember that in my interview, Choate asked me more critical thinking, analytical questions than Andover did. They try to examine you more than the other schools do - in all of their essays and in the interviews.

I just really like the environment. I can't describe it, but I really liked it when I visited.

Neat. Choate sounds like a good school for you. I hope you get in. :)

The five figure that I have right now are: Edward V of England (th elder of the two princes locked in the Tower of London--coolest place on earth, by the way), Adolf Hitler (you really have to read the paragraph to comprehend why), Pythagoras of Samos, Edmund Bloodwood (protagonest from my third novel), and Roald Dahl. What do you think?

So you're doing that topic, too? Do you have any ideas of specific people right now?

I didn't do a Choate interview, but I found Andover to have a lot of critical thinking, analytical questions. Maybe Choate had even more, or maybe our interviews were just different.

yup yup ^_^
i get the feeling that it is a relaxed but still ver good academically school.
and im guessing the people like it too.
my friend last year had to answer a question about brocoli. lol
