Yesterday, Bill Clinton (at 23'56" into his press conference with President Obama YouTube - Press Briefing with President Obama and President Clinton) referenced a speech that not-yet-VP Roosevelt gave to his alma mater in 1926 wherein he discussed the challenges facing progressives in the U.S. I'd like to read that speech, but can't find a link. If someone can point me in the right direction, I'd be grateful. Thanks!!

wow, that`s cool.Did anyone find the speech. Thanks for sharing.

FDR went to Groton.

yes and 26 yrs later he gave a speech.

So why would the OP ask for Choate grads to have knowledge of it?

Pay attention.

If you listen to the press conference at 23’56"+, Clinton cites a lecture Roosevelt gave at Choate, “his old alma mater,” in 1926, about the dilemma of progressives in the U.S. Obviously, he got the school wrong and maybe the whole reference is botched, too. I was hoping that a Choate (or Groton) history buff might point me to a source for the lecture. It sounds interesting, if it exists. I’d enjoy reading it.

my point is that FDR graduated from Groton 26 years earlier. Maybe he made a speech at Choate or perhaps Groton. I too wanted to read the speech.

It’s all Clinton’s fault.
