Choate new student registration packets

Hi everyone, I didn't want to create a thread for this but I am worried that maybe my new student registration packet was lost in the mail. Has anyone else not received it yet?

They had some problems at the printers, which delayed them getting to registration packets to everyone. My son's arrived a couple of days ago, but we're in Massachusetts, so I would guess you'll get yours in a couple of days, being overseas.

BTW - they do a pretty nice job putting everything together. My son spend last night going through the courses and trying to figure out all the classes he's going to take through 5th form year. (He's like that). It can actually be pretty complicated, given the various requirements they have.

thanks for the input prpdd. i emailed the admissions office and they said that i should email them next tuesday if i stilll have not received it by then. I've seen the online one, and it looks complicated with all the tests and requirements, etc.

I think I'm getting mine in the mail someday, but I bet it's coming later.

I got mine, I think. It's the one with the placement tests right? And the teacher forms, etc.?

yeah olivia. i still didnt get mine!!! ughh :(

I'm sorry, Helen. :(

Helen I think you'll get yours because I was off the WL on Wednesday and they told me the stuff would come in three days. It's probably because you're international'.

haha yeah i just found out that ups doesnt deliver because its may break in china. how lame.

Has everyone from other schools gotten their packages,? I haven't gotten mine yet!!!

Abkat, where are you going? Are you int'l? That's probably why if so.

Exeter doesn't really have a package. It comes in bits and pieces...

i got mine! wait i have a question. if im taking two languages...then i have 6 courses already. how am i supposed to fulfil the art requirement then?

I don't think you're allowed to take another language unless you've passed the 300 level in one of them. That's why I'm taking Italian after French.

Talk to them about it. What levels are you in both languages?

oh, and another question. do i have to give the history placement form to my teacher if im going to 9th grade next year?

Olivia, I tried answering your messages but your mailbox is full!

Also, unless you HATE French, I would recommend sticking with it to AP. Most people do and it's a guaranteed AP. Or, you could take french to 450, 4th year honors, and take Italian senior year. There is no point in taking it after French 300 because there is only 1 year of Italian offered, its a 2 year class integrated into 1 year, so you would be w/out a language senior year!

Yup, I know there's only one year offered.... so I should take French through 450 Honors... how long would that take? In senior year, I'd be taking both French and Italian?

I cleared my PM; I sent you a PM. ;)

im confused about the number of courses. how do they expect us not to take above 5 courses when we kinda have to (with the one term arts requirement)... plus i want to take 2 languages--but i dont even know if i can do that because ill be going in to latin 3 next year (and i want to continue taking chinese or arabic)...

Arts doesn't count for your academic subject, I think. I think they have a period in the evening that you take your arts course. You can take two languages if you've passed the 300 level in one of them (which it looks like you have) but if you take 6 courses instead of five, you get no free periods.
