Choate Personalizations?

Does Choate Admissions ever interject any level of personalization during the acceptance process or does it simply leave students alone to make a decision based on the school's name/reputation (albeit a great one!) alone? My son will very likely attend in September, however his 14 year old ego is definitely being stroked by the personalization of contact from Peddie in the last few days. He has gotten phone calls from current students, coaches, etc., which has him beaming.

Just curious about anyone else's experience.

We received nice phone calls from current parents, and a perfect match with a current student on revisit day. I would go to both revisit days and make your choice after then!

Yes, we are going to both revisit days and hope that these events will aid in the decision making process. Hoping to hear from Choate at some point before then. The link to sign up for the revisit day on GoChoate still hasnt been added though. Anyone else encountering a sign up issue?

Thanks!

Choate currently has spring break until next Tuesday, so I think most adminstrators (and definitely the admissions team) are currently away until then, so you may not see that info until next week.

We also received calls from current parents, and when they do call, you might want to mention that your S would be interested in speaking with a current student prior to revisits.

You are so right about the spring break. Thanks for the reminder!
When they call I will ask if they can put my son in touch with a student with similar interests. He has a connection to one student there already who has given him nothing but glowing reviews. However this young man like all Choatee’s is strong academically, has a great interest in the arts, but very little in sports, therefore his insight on that topic has been limited. My son on the other hand excels academically, but also has great interest in sports. I really want him to talk to/be paired with someone similar who can share with him the challenges that he will face in this arena.
