My kid is accepted by several top schools, including above. He wants Choate, but I am not sure. All will be funded by Prep-for-Prep and no money matter to me. ".. depends on his character.." ".. go to revisit day.." would be one of your standard answers, but I am looking for more than that here. In advance, thank you.

I don’t know how anybody can offer advice about which is better for your kid without knowing your kid. So yes…standard answer is it depends on the kid and go to revisit days. I don’t know what anyone can tell you to help make your decision when they don’t know your kid and his strengths and weaknesses and what he wants in a school.

I go to Choate (I’m a sophomore)…PM me if you want.

Regarding Deerfield (I might be biased) but it seems to me that Choate is a more liberal school, not that that’s better than being more conservative, but still. It’s just a difference between the two. DA seems to be stricter regarding dress code, as on Deerfield Day they’re required to be in class dress and we can wear sweatshirts, jeans, etc. A friend of mine goes to DA and he seems to like it. I’ve heard it’s in the middle of nowhere, though. When I go to Hartford to get a flight home, there are Deerfield kids there because that’s the closest airport I think (that’s what a friend told me).
