I'm debating over which college I should go to. It's over Otis College of Art and Design, Academy of Art University and California College of the Arts. Basically, SF vs. LA. I live in the Bay Area and Academy of Art and California College of the Arts would be most convenient for me. However, Otis is my first choice. I'm not really sure on the prestige on any of them. I'm determined to stay close to my family, and LA would be way too far. However, I feel as if LA has more of what I want out of my college experience. I'm very torn between the two places and I was wondering if I could get anyone's input. I haven't visited any but I'm attempting to visit the campuses soon.

what are you planning to major in?

I plan on majoring in either graphic design or illustration.

as for illustration, I love the work coming out of Otis. Not sure about AAU as I haven't looked into the school, but I've heard from others that they have a good illustration department. I took CCA off my list after I could not find any student art work save what they have on their brochure and have found any students to actually talk to.

Don't know about graphic design, and of course those are just my opinions.

make sure you look at the areas of both colleges

otis is in a sketchy area

What do you mean by "sketchy"?

cal arts did a presentation in our school and i really like it. they have two campuses so you kinda have to commute between the two depending on your schedule.
