Choice of AP Subjects

I'm leaning towards studying Social Anthropology/International Relations in the UK and since my academic background is not traditional (three different schools, with three different educational systems), I am interested in taking APs my senior year.
I plan on taking Art History, Euro History, Comparative Governments & Politics, English Lang, Psychology and French.
In case my school next year doesn't offer any of these subjects, on a scale of 1-5, how hard is it to self-study for them? I am confident that I can self-study for English, Psych and French (and maaaybe Euro History). What about Art and CGP? I read that CGP is really hard to get a 4 (with most students even getting 2s) and Art History requires a ton of painting memorization. Also, is there a website out there that provides students with help (like an online study group)? Thanks xx

Whoa, that’s quite a load of AP classes you’re considering. I highly recommend that you don’t take so many because it is a LOT to handle. From my own experience, AP Psychology is not hard, and you can definitely study for it and get a 5. And yes, it is true that Comparative Politics and Government is hard. I definitely recommend taking a class for the exam. Personally, I wouldn’t take AP French because it’s a lot of work, especially with those other classes. Good luck though.

Why would you want to?

Self-studying English…why would you do that? The purpose of that class is to learn how to write that specific type of essay from your teacher. It’s not something you make up on your own or can copy online.

@bodangles‌ - ap english would be just an extension of IB level course i am taking at my current school. i am already fairly familiar with writing commentaries, so the structure wouldn’t be an issue.
@thelogicalzebra‌ - how hard is ap french?? i mean, i looked into past papers and the questions were fairly easy and straightforward.

I’ve never taken AP French. I guess what I wanted to say that you might want to consider dropping it if you’re taking those other classes, but I misread your question and now I realized that you’re considering self-studying it. In that case, go for it!
