Hi first time poster here.
I’m hoping to go to UC Davis and I was wondering if I should choose the Animal Biology major or Neurobiology major? Which one would give me the best chance of getting admitted? If I get selected as a Animal Biology major, i would probably switch to a Biology major because the prereqs are very similar?

Choose the major you are most passionate about. Animal Biology is extremely competitive, as well as the other ones you have listed. If you declared Animal Biology, I am guessing that it would not be too difficult to switch to Bio.

Before, I was really hesitant about putting down bio as my major, seeing how I didn’t have the most competitive stats. But really, your major doesn’t really have THAT much of an effect on your admission. You go in as undeclared-(your major here) anyways (or so I was told).

Your choice of major isn’t such a big deal-the difference from Animal bio to NPB is is ignorable. Everyone takes practically the same pre-reqs all across the College of BioSci. Just put down the major you like best and feel would be the best fit for you! However, if you are that concerned, say Undeclared Life Sciences or Plant Biology-there are very few people in the plant bio major and it might help!
