I get accepted at UCLA and UCSD for EE. I am on dilemma to change my major to civil engineering. I got more financial aid at UCSD than UCLA, but there is no CE there. so please help me what I am suppose to do.
thanks

You don’t discuss Cost to Attend, and I don’t know if there is a difference between the schools. For instance, if you got $20k for UCSD and $15k for UCLA, but UCSD costs $5k more to attend, then the net cost to attend is the same.

Also, is the $20k from UCSD loans, and the $15k from UCLA Grants? So, don’t just look at net cost to attend, but net cost to attend after Scholarships and Grants only (ignore loans).

In any case, most kids change their major before they graduate. However, you don’t want to start out at a school that doesn’t offer the major you currently want. But, if you can’t afford the more expensive school, then you can’t afford the more expensive school.

If you can afford the more expensive school, then you will have to decide if the CE degree is worth the additional expense. If the difference is only $1k, then I would do it. If the difference is $40k, then I would think long and hard about a CE degree. Maybe there is another degree offered by UCSD that is close enough to CE.

how much more? and are you impartial between ee and ce? if you wanna do ce, maybe the difference in cost would be worth it, maybe idk?
