Choose between U.K and U.S schools

Hey guys!! I now live in Canada and I’ve applied to schools in both the us and the uk. I applied for International Relations major mostly.

Here’s a list of schools that I’ve been accepted into:

UC Davis
American University (IR)
University of Miami

King’s College London (conditional)
The University of Edinburgh (conditional)
St. Andrews (unconditional)

Currently I’m considering St. Andrews because they have amazing International Relations programs and their curriculum is more flexible unlike most schools in London. The only downside is that St. Andrews is too small a town and I prefer living in bigger cities like London. Also, I still don’t know if I should choose American schools or uk schools. American University is prestigious for its IR program and it’s not very high ranked internationally… I hope you guys can give me some advice!!!

What nationality are you? If European then St A should be a no-brainer.
How much does each cost?

I am a Canadian. I just checked and for American University it’s $66717 whereas St Andrews it’s around $33000… I guess that’s a very huge differ eve. But will it be hard for me to attend a grad school in the states with a uk school undergrad degree? Should I try to meet the conditions of the offers from KCL and Edinburgh instead? I kinda like the atmosphere of Edinburgh.

“But will it be hard for me to attend a grad school in the states with a uk school undergrad degree?”

No (assuming you are not aiming for med school).

“I kinda like the atmosphere of Edinburgh.”

Edinburgh is fine for IR.

Be sure to compare like costs with like costs. Just tuition with tuition or tuition+R&B with tuition+R&B.

St Andrews is the most prestigious for IR but it’s in a remote village (idyllic but still small and isolated).
Edinburgh has the better general reputation EXCEPT in the US and for IR, but it’s highly regarded overall and in a dynamic capital city (I love the Parliament).

Did you apply to any Canadian schools? $67k per year is a lot. I know multiple people who did undergrad in Canada and graduate school in the US.
