Choose CMU vs. Stanford

Hi, I am here ask questions for my friend. She is recently accepted to the Chem-e program of Carnegie Mellon University and also Stanford. Which one is better? As she is plan to concentrated on industry.

the two choises have some pros and cons, let me list those:
CMU:
+Top in its system engineering, good places in Pittsburge
- definitely no financial aid

Stanford:
+highly reputed, possible to get aided
-the curriculum seems more related to research and chemistry, not quite technology oriented

Glad for any advices that makes it easier to decide which program to select. Thanks in advance~

That’s a nobrainer - go to Stanford (OMG)!

Stanford is better ranked for Chem-e and is possibly offering her financial aid, whereas she is getting none from CMU. I’d definitely go to Stanford under those circumstances.

BTW she will have no trouble getting an industry job with a Stanford degree even if her major is more research-oriented.
