I'm really confused when it comes to choosing which college to go to. I know that I want to go on to law school after I get my bachelors degree, but do I necessarily need to get into a really prestigious school to have any hope of getting into law school? Should I go for the more prestigious and well-known school which is alot more expensive, or go for the cheaper, less-prestigious school?

No.

First of all, finances permitting, you should go where you think you’ll be happiest. How much more expensive? Is the additional cost not a stretch for your family, or will it result in extensive debt? My son is looking at Northwestern and Vandy as well as in-state options UGA and Georgia Tech. The in-state options would be tuition-free; the others probably full pay. That difference is too extreme to be reasonable, but if the price difference was only $10,000 a year, I’d be in favor of the private schools.
