Choosing a Discipline of engineering?

Hi! I’m extremely confused and lost as to which engineering to apply to( Class of 22 undergrad) . I am very invested in the environment and would love a job where I can work either technology to help environment or just be able to find solutions to fix environment. At first, I thought of environmental eng but then I heard it was a lot of health inspection and more but I want to spend my life solving Earths problems not necessarily evaluating labs. Any help is greatly needed!

Call of 2022? Then you’re a senior this year in High School. You have plenty of time to choose a major. Do the research, watch video’s and find what interest you. When looking at colleges, research when you have to pick your major. Many will put you into a “pre-engineering” program, and you pick your major after you’ve been in school for at least 1 year.

Environmental Engineering is strongly related to Civil Engineering. Typical areas of employment are: design and development consulting firms; engineering and construction companies; regulatory agencies such as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the “State level” departments of Environmental Protection; service industries: water treatment, waste water treatment, solid and hazardous waste disposal; research organizations: national laboratories, universities; and manufacturing industries

Good Luck!
