Choosing a less common major?

I am leaning towards choosing a major that is unique only to my school, it is called "Management and Society". It is a mix of sociology (ex. sociology of labor markets, social economics), psychology (ex. social psych), and economics classes (ex. micro, macro, labor economics). I really like the focus, understanding the way businesses work and how people effect businesses.

What I am worried about is that employers will not know what the major means and just overlook me when looking at my resume. I'm at UNC Chapel Hill, a fairly well known and respectable school. I am just worried that not having a well known major will hurt me, even though I think this major is the right fit for me.

What do ya'll think?

Major in Management and Society ? Sociology

If you’re that worried employers won’t know what your major means, you can just show them your transcript and then they’ll see what classes you took.
