I was accepted into the LC smith school for this fall as a transfer, so i only just got my letter a couple of days ago. I was wondering if i can minor in any of the other schools in Syracuse? My bad if that is a stupid question but i know that this is possible in other schools like Johns Hopkins for example.

Yes, the option to minor is available. I am a civil engineering major at LC Smith and I’m thinking about a minor in architecture. Part of the requirements for the minor is getting permission (Declaration Form) from the respective school. For example, if I want to minor in architecture, I’d have to complete the Declaration Form for the School of Architecture. If you’re a freshman you may have to hold off 'till the second semester, so get good grades your first semester.

Each school has different requirements though so make sure you have them before you try to declare!

I know for Whitman minors, they only accept like 50 students a year, you must pass a certain GPA requirement, and be able to complete the minor in 4 years without taking more than two Whitman classes a semester. So if you decide to minor in Whitman your sophomore year, make sure your GPA’s good and you already took some Whitman classes before

Other schools like Falk is much easier to declare a minor in. Only need a 3.0 GPA, fill out the declaration form, and just wait for it to get approved
