Those are all great schools! I’ve heard great things about the Co-op program for engineering at Waterloo and UBC (that doesn’t mean the others don’t have something good going on… just that I haven’t spoken to anyone there).

You should think about what your priorities are in order to find the right fit for you. You already know BC: what the people are like, what the weather is like, etc. Are you familiar with those aspects in Ontario? Some students rank distance from home as a big deal: if that’s the case, both BC schools are a good idea. Lots of students want to get away from home - if that’s the case, Ontario is pretty far and Vancouver is far enough that you’re not home (but still close if you really want to get back for a weekend).

Is having a big campus community important to you? Do you get along with harsh winters? There are a ton of little questions like that that you should think about… seems silly to make a decision based on weather, but trust me: happy students who get out and get involved are usually the best students (most fun + better grades).

Hope this helps!

Hmm…I’m not too familiar with UVIC and UBC, but out of uWaterloo or UofT, I would probably go with Waterloo. U of T is just such a huge school with lots of huge class sizes. Waterloo has a really great co-op program and a closer community, based on what I’ve heard from friends. It’s also a lot less busy and hectic, since UofT is in downtown Toronto (whether that’s a good thing depends on your preferences).

Also, UofT is quite known for having tough undergrad programs with grade deflation that is specifically designed to weed people out. Just something to keep in mind!

Waterloo is extremely competitive to get in. Admission Averages | Engineering | University of Waterloo; U of T is a little less so. I recommend that you visit all them and apply to all of those you like.
