Initially, I was going to major in architecture, but then I noticed that most of the people who actually apply for such start drawing and all that at a young age. I have interests in designing buildings, specifically houses. Creative parts in architecture such as implementing houses into landscape just seems cool all by itself. However, the problem is that I might not know what am I getting myself into. I heard that the outlook on architects themselves aren't the greatest, and as a matter of fact, some are going out of business. I've also heard that I should be able to come out with a design where one would go heads over toes on it or else I'd be "living in the streets" then. In terms of "competition", I fear that learning architecture might all be in vain if I'm not even hired in the first place after college.

Another choice that I took interest in is majoring in Game Design. I'm aware of how designing games on its own is much more complicated than it seems. I've heard that I must have expertise in computer science. In terms of "competition", I've also noted that I might need to catch a lucky break to make it in the industries. I've also heard that Game Design is where the money's usually at compared to architect. I've heard that there were several structures in a creation of game designing, which, according to the Game Design Documentary includes...
1. Story
2. Characters
3. Level/environment design
4. Gameplay
5. Art
6. Sound and Music

7. User Interface, Game Controls

Two of the seven (1 and 2) I have no problem in doing. By simply coming across great games once in awhile, I think I just might be able to do the same.

All in all, I'm aiming towards these two fields. I'm leaning towards game design, but can anyone offer an insight of the pros and cons of these two fields? I want to also know that what minoring in architecture would get me if I chose Game Design as my major. I was probably thinking would architecture actually help me in my game design (#3). Another one of the problems that I have is that I'm by no means the best in drawing, nor have I taken a computer science course yet. Are these skills that can be acquired by trying my hardest, or are they just mere gifted "talents"?
