Choosing Between Ivy Leagues Colleges

I'm a chilean guy and I will try to enter to one of this colleges next year, but here's my doubt:

where can I find information about the differences between these colleges (specialley harvard, columbia, princeton, yale and penn), I really want to be very sure which one's the one that really fits me

I want to study something related to business and administration or economics.

Thanks

Nico.

the college websites can be helpful. sometimes they can be kind of vague though

What kind of "fit" do you think you require? Do you plan to make this determination without visiting?

upenn has wharton= best undergrad business school in the world.

I would also suggest one of the college guide books ... once you have figured out your criteria beyond majors ... city, suburb, college town ... big, medium, small ... research U or LAC ... etc ... then your list will come into focus better (and will likely include both IVY and non-IVY schools).

Definitely Penn/Wharton for business.

Is there really a big difference between Wharton and Harvard? For econ I mean?

Penn is more finance oriented, due to Wharton.

Yeah, why does it have to be all Ivy Leagues? There are schools out there that beat some or all of the Ivies (think UChicago Economics) depending on what you are looking for. Though I must say there's not going to be much quality difference in the schools you've listed, except for emphasis on either Econ or Business.

sez who ?

Byerly: Well in general, the OP has named schools that are all in the most elite of elite group of schools in the world for his area.

I was replying to mensa's dubious assertion .. not to you.

Ivy league colleges are dominated by 3 colleges (HYP) or Havrvard,Yale,Princeton and no other Ivyleague college can outbeat them. There is no doubt that Harvard is in the first place whereas Princeton is in second and Yale in the third. So the rankings are as follows.
1.Harvard
2.Princeton
3.Yale
4.Upenn
5.Cornell
6.Dartmouth
7.Brown

um... btw, if u wanna go to wharton, do u simply apply to upenn, or do u have to apply separately to wharton?

I personally did not apply to Wharton myself (but did apply for the College at Penn), but I have heard that there is definitely a separate application for Wharton in addition to the regular application for UPenn.

alabhya, that's being way too specific. There is plenty of doubt, everyone has their own opinion, and your opinion shouldn't be portrayed as fact. And LMAO at "outbeat". You also give no indication of what factors you are considering here. Environment and quality in the major need to be addressed too. Here is my OPINION:

Harvard
Princeton
Yale
Dartmouth
UPenn
Brown
Cornell

Alabhya, your rankings are not even CLOSE. Same for you, drummerdude. Plus, neither of you even included all of the Ivy schools. Just look at acceptance rates, acceptances into grad schools, revealed preference, and it's pretty clear that the rankings are more like this for general undergraduate:
Harvard
Yale
Princeton
Columbia
Brown
Dartmouth
UPenn
Cornell

I just rearranged the schools the other poster included. And you only need to change to schools to make mine match yours.

alabhya, you're mentally retarded.

harvard is a world away from yale. harvard and princeton are similar in the sense that you'll find a lot more study-hard types there than at yale, and yale is more intellectual/liberal-arts-college-y. there is no hard and fast "ranking."

it depends on what major you want to go into, and what kind of academic environment you want. THERE ARE NO RANKINGS. if you want prestige rankings, then maybe do look at some of the lists on this thread. they are no more than rankings based on name.

Jimbob ur a Biggest retard I have ever seen Harvard and Princeton are way above any other Ivy league and if there is still a doubt then go see the rankings u son of a *****.
