Choosing between Lafayette college and NYU abu dhabi

Hi! I’ve been accepted to Lafayette college and NYU abu dhabi and am confused about
where to go. My intended major is biology although that is quite likely to change. Here 's some info about me: SAT 1520 (Math 780 ERW 740), unweighted cumulative GPA: 4.19.
I prefer having a flexible, liberal arts curriculum that will help me find my major and career plan, but also provides me with great academics and research opportunities. I am an international student and I think strong points for Lafayette would be the typical US college life while NYUAD would be the stellar academics. I wish to be surrounded by nice and supportive people as well. Please advise on anything you know about the two. Thank you!

Which of these is closer to where you live? What have the international students offices at both places told you about their accommodations for international students during the pandemic? Were the students able to stay on campus through the end of the semester, or did they have to return home? What plans do both universities have for the fall? Will you be able to stay on campus if there is another shut-down? Will you be able to study remotely if you aren’t able to enter the country because the country has closed its borders?

It really depends on the type of college expereince you want and only you can answer that question.

FWIW my D went to Lafayette and had a wonderful expereince. I think that Lafayette has found that “secret sauce” which allows students to feel challenged academically and still have time to develop close friendships, get involved in ECs, do research with professors etc. If you have any specific questions about the school feel free to ask.

That said, I do think you need to consider what impact the covid pandemic might have on your ability to get to the US next fall, if classes will be online etc. You may want to discuss with admissions at both colleges.

@happymomof1 Thank you so much for your reply. I will definitely take those questions into consideration.
