So, after hearing from all the universities I applied to, here's the breakdown:

Boston University (full need met, will probably graduate without any debt)
University of Pittsburgh (haven't heard from FA yet)
University of Wisconsin-Madison (haven't heard from FA yet)
University of Michigan- Ann Arbor (accepted waitlist, haven't heard from FA yet)

I didn't into the honors program of any of these unis. I plan to pay the deposit for BU, but in the meantime I wanted to know how good are the other universities for pre-med. If I hear back from Pitt, Wisconsin and Michigan and I get a good FA package (btw my EFC is 0, so need as much money as I can get), which one would you recommend instead of BU? I'm just a bit skeptical about BU because I've heard about the grade deflation there and I'm worried that my GPA won't be high. I'm aiming for a 3.8+ college GPA.

From a prestige/preparation standpoint these schools are all the same. The decision would come down to personal factors (e.g. pittsburgh and boston are VERY different from Ann Arbor and Madison) and FA.

Any of those universities will adeuqately prepare you for the MCAT and applying to medical school. You have some excellent choices!

The name of the college does not get you into medical school; what you do while a student there is what gets you into medical school. Wherever you go, aim to be in the top 15% of the class. You will face substantial competition for that position in any of the schools you mention. I really don’t think it makes any difference which you choose.

IMO, you should choose the one from which you will graduate with the least debt. Medical school is expensive and there is little aid other than loans to finance it. (And none of those loans will be subsidized.) Do not underestimate the benefit of graduating with little or no undergrad debt.

First of all, congratulations! Having have to decide from amongst multiple acceptances is a nice problem to have.

From your post, it appears that FA is very important for you. State schools tend to be more generous with FA packages to in-state applicants. I hope you applied and have acceptances from some of your state schools.

Aspiring for 3.8+ GPA shows that you have enough motivation to be a successful med-school applicant. However, you coming off the wait list at UMich is an indication that you have your work cut out. So go ahead, pick the school that gives you the best FA package and commit yourself to achieving that 3.8+ GPA. A final push with the MCAT and some good ECs along the way should put you within sight of your dream.
