<p>I applied to 11 schools I think, but the only ones I would actually consider going to are the following 6:</p>
<p>D’Youville College
Le Moyne College/St. Joseph’s College of Nursing dual degree program for nursing
Temple University
Drexel University
SUNY Binghamton
SUNY Buffalo</p>
<p>Pros and cons of each:</p>
<p>D’Youville:
PROS - Small, known for health programs, direct entry into nursing program in a city
CONS - Low NCLEX-RN pass rate compared to Le Moyne, cold (it’s in Buffalo NY)</p>
<p>Le Moyne:
PROS - Small, direct entry into nursing program - start nursing including clinicals during the 2nd year, campus, work study, in a city, 100% job placement after graduation
CONS - Price tag (although not out of range), being at two separate campuses for college and splitting up the years, not incredibly diverse</p>
<p>Temple:
PROS - Campus, large student body but low student/faculty ratio, in a city, extremely diverse
CONS - Have to apply to the nursing program after 2nd year, price tag</p>
<p>Drexel:
PROS - In a city, co-op program, direct entry into nursing program, campus
CONS - Price tag, summer classes</p>
<p>Binghamton:
PROS - Top public school, price tag, in a city, campus
CONS - Have to apply to the nursing program</p>
<p>Buffalo:
PROS - Nursing is a small division of the school, direct entry into nursing program, top public school, connected with lots of hospitals, in a city
CONS - Nursing program is quite competitive</p>
<p>I’ve been accepted to D’Youville and Le Moyne already, and got scholarships at both. Because of this, I’ll probably be choosing between these two, especially since I don’t think I’ll get into Binghamton, Drexel would only be financially possible if I got an insane amount of scholarship money, and I’m thinking that Buffalo is too big…So that leaves Temple, D’Youville and Le Moyne.</p>
<p>Anyway, I have a couple questions:</p>
<li>Which do you think I should choose?</li>
<li>Does anyone know what the acceptance rate is to the nursing programs at Temple and Binghamton?</li>
<li>Any experience with any of the schools, especially the nursing programs?</li>
</ol>
<p>Thanks!</p>
<p>Of course, I have to see where all I get in, and how much money I can get from each place…And I still have to visit D’Youville and Buffalo because I haven’t seen either of those campuses yet…But this is just to get an idea.</p>
