Choosing between University of Maryland and Purdue university

Hey guys,

I am a transfer student doing a Major in Electrical engineering. I have been admitted in both Purdue and Maryland. I am in a dilemma to choose one. My aim to get a job after completing an undergraduate degree. Which is the best university among these two for electrical? Also, which has more job opportunities. I am not interested in research either. Thank you.

Are you instate for either?

No. I am an international student.

No. I am an international student.

I don’t know the rep of the EE dept at either school, but they are both good schools and I don’t think the opportunities would be much different from either one. Which one do you like better? Would you rather be in Washington DC or in Indiana? Washington would probably be easier to travel to for an international student.

Washington would be easier but I heard Purdue is more popular for engineering. Also, I heard Maryland is in a better location. If it’s the case, then wouldn’t Maryland offer more opportunities?

You need to contact the career centers at both campuses, and ask them about placement for international graduates with EE degrees.

And, you need to ask the employers in your own country whether they care or not about which of these places you might attend.
