Choosing between UW-S and UW-M

Okay, the only two school I was accepted were two UWs, University of Wisconsin Madison and University of Washington Seattle. A couple things, both are OOS and are very similar in $$, rankings overall and ranking in major.

So I don't know how to choose between the two other than "feel" I guess. I don't know how to differentiate the two in my head because they are very similar in academics, sports, and campus.

The only big difference is weather I guess, but both are fine for me.

Between these two which would you pick and why. Also if possible point out how the two are different in your mind.

Tough one. I would go with Madison, I just feel the overall university is a notch above UW, as much as I love UW. If you are from the Bay Area-Madison is very much the "Berkeley" of the Midwest campuses. The campus is beautiful and right on a lake. It is also in close proximity to Chicago and Milwaukee among other major MW cities.

Although I'm biased, I would say Madison is a slighlty better school (in academics and sports), and has a better national reputation outside of the Seattle/Portland. The campus is better at Washington though. It's a tough choice but I would go with Madison.

Washington is known for having major issues with class scheduling and graduating in 4 years, to the point where many in-staters choose Western Washington U over it in order to graduate in 4 years.

Hmm, haven't heard too much about the class issues. Oh ya and I also heard that Madsion has a lot more OOS students than Seattle does, so I guess that's good.

Class scheduling can be frustrating at UW Seattle, you seriously click a button at a very early time in the morning and hope that you get your classes.

It's still fantastic, and I'm considering going there. [It's either there or Syracuse], then again I live super close to Seattle so I am biased that way.

"If you are from the Bay Area-Madison is very much the "Berkeley" of the Midwest campuses."

ann arbor would like to have a word with you

No, Madison has a much more liberal atmosphere and feel to it.

I would choose UW-M, great people, academics, sports, and atmosphere
and to Ron Paul 2012, someone's never heard of Hash Bash, Logic Warrior is correct

I would definitely pick Wisconsin. More fun and a better reputation, although it gets seriously cold.

What are you looking to major in

I'm going to major in business (hopefully), but didn't get into Seattle's freshmen program so I'll have to wait either place I go. The business building is fairly new at Madison though so that's nice. I haven't visited Seattle yet, but I'm leaning toward Madison atm. Unless something really strikes me during the visit, I'm probably going to go to Madison.
