Choosing between WashU and Johns Hopkins

Hi guys! I’ve been accepted to both WashU and JHU for biological sciences (or some subset of it). I was wondering if any of you guys could give me advice for the pre-med track at either university or provide any insight on which I should choose. I understand that both have fantastic biology and pre-med programs. However, based on what others have told me, JHU is more intense especially for bio majors. Could anyone provide any truth to this statement? Does anyone know which may have more opportunities or at which more students get better grades? Thank you all in advance!

At that level I would just visit both schools and see which environment you are more comfortable/happy in. As you said both are good for premed so are clearly difficult to do well in. I have heard, emphasis on heard (not sure if it is true), that at jhu premed is cut throat and competitive with students only looking out for themselves. That is definitely not the case here. People are collaborative and willing to help fellow students out.

Both are wonderful options but from all the accounts I’ve heard, WUSTL has better quality of life although I prefer the eastern corridor access of the JHU location.

Thank you both!

I know someone who has the same dilemma but ended up choosing WashU bc of the supportive and collaborative environment. Definitely visit!
